The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) / マダム・マロリーと魔法のスパイス

一言でいうと、ハッピーな映画。そして、とてもキレイにまとまっていると思う。

知らない土地で、家族で新しい事業を始める。しかも、ミシュラン一つ星レストランの目の前で…。
賢い選択には見えず、非現実的に思えるが、次の展開が待ち遠しくなってしまう。
それは、きっとパパが家族とのレストランの成功を信じているから。

70代の母にこの映画をプレゼントしたところ、大変喜ばれた。
家族で協力してゼロから事業を始め、時々敵が邪魔をするけれど、それに立ち向かうという骨太のストーリーに加え、きゅんきゅんするときめきポイントも散りばめられているからである。

二人で森を散策。フランス料理についてマルグリットがこっそりハッサンに伝授する。

フランスで、インド料理は人気なのだろうか？ということも気になるところである。
それはこの映画では分からなかったので、フランスの友人たちに聞くことにする。

ハッサンの穏やかな笑顔はこの映画で見どころの一つかも。

ぜひ一度、家族や恋人とご覧あれ。


In a word, this is happy-ending story. And well organized.

A family started their restaurant business in a new town which they'd never been to, what's more, in front of the Michelin star French restaurant.
You will think it is not realistic, but will be excited to see the story development.
I think because Papa(Om Puri) keeps believing the success with his family.

I gave this DVD to my mother and she liked it.
She must like the storyline which family cooperate for the business from scratch, and an enemy sometimes distract their business, but they confront the difficulties.
In addition, she must have had got the butterflies sometimes.

By the way, I want to know French people like Indian food.
The movie didn't tell, so I will ask my French friends somedays.
