The Big Sick (2017)

I love American pop music duo "The bird and the bee" and I was googling them. I found "The Big Sick" somehow and tried to watch it because Zoe Kazan was also my favorite actress.

Summary
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A main character Kumail is Pakistan-born comedian.
He met a grad student Emily(Zoe Kazan) and they fell in love.
A few month later, Emily found that Kumail hadn't told his family about her.
She was upset, but he could do nothing about that because romance with white women was not acceptable for common Pakistani families.
After clash with Emily, suddenly she was taken to hospital.
She needed to be coma for the operation to remove a tumor.

I usually feel a bit stress while watching a movie which someone get sick because I'm worried if the person could survive or not.
However, for some reason, I wasn't concerned so much. I think because cultural struggling of Kumail, his family, and Emily's parents distracted me from Emily's coma.

I like the scene that Emily's family recognized Kumail was a good guy in hospital and Kumail also found they were nice people.

Zoe's nuanced performance attracted me.
Natural and her expressive face would be loved by every audiences.
A few years ago, I became her fan with a Canadian movie, "The F Word (What if)".
I liked her even more thanks to "The Big Sick".
